Police commissioners: Crick tips runners and riders in the West Midlands

🕔12.Jan 2012

Channel Four’s political correspondent Michael Crick is taking a close interest in November’s elections for police commissioners. In a blog post today, he lists the definite and not-so-definite potential candidates, including those in our region.

For the West Midlands, he tips former Labour city councillor Mike Olley and Wolverhampton’s councillor Bob Jones.

Crick says:

Bob Jones, who has a Facebook page ‘Bob Jones for PCC’ … is a former chair of the West Midlands Police Authority. He serves too as Campaigns Officer for CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale. So what are his views on drink-driving?”

Crick also names Birmingham councillors Yvonne Mosquito and Ayoub Khan, and says Solihull councillor Joe Tildesley wants to be the Tory candidate in the West Midlands. Former MEP Simon Murphy wants the West Mercia job, he says.
